Russian impressions

Education and Leisure Committee Royal National Institute for the Blind

In May 1989, as a member of an RNIB delegation, the author visited Moscow and Leningrad at the invitation of the All-Russia Association o f the Blind (VOS), with the aim of gaining some impression of services for the blind in the Soviet Union. This article describes some o f his paradoxical findings.
