Blindisms: possible causes and remedies

The author describes some o f the studies already published on blindness in children and their possible causes; she brings out the need for further research on the whole subject. Present findings seem to indicate that blindisms do not occur when, as in the African culture, children are brought up in close contact with their mothers and the extended family.
