The major area of interest in the project has been in developing and investigating ways in which computers can be useful to the visually impaired and make existing programs accessible to them. As a result there is now available a wide range of computer based materials for users ranging from the pre-school multi-handicapped child to adults in employment. Work on this project has been going on at Birmingham University's Research Centre for the Education of the Visually Handicapped for the past three years.
