Regional provision for visually impaired children in western France

Joyce Chatterton

During the Easter holidays (1993) the author visited a school for visually impaired children in western France and had an opportunity to discuss the varied provisions which support children of all ages and abilities. Issues relating to funding, staffing and resources were addressed, and facilities at the school were viewed and evaluated. The findings open the way for comparisons between educational provision for visually handicapped children in the United Kingdom and in other European countries.
